CAARE’s President- Denis Vaughan, Campaign Director- Rob Burlison and Press Officer- Duncan Mayall met with Hugh Robertson MP, The Conservative Shadow Minister for Sport. Rob Burlison said “The meeting went very well; Hugh is in agreement that we must place a strong emphasis on good quality Physical Education within the primary curriculum. He would like to see CAARE continuously campaign to raise the profile of high quality PE in primary schools and to make the subject compulsory during primary teacher training. CAARE recommend 50 hours of physical education training to be given to all trainee primary teachers.”
